My name is Brendan White and I am a freelance journalist based in the southeast of Ireland. I have an Honours Degree in Journalism from Dublin City University, a Higher National Diploma in Print Journalism from Ballyfermot College of Further Education and a certificate in Digital Marketing and Social Media from Waterford Institute of Technology.

A freelance journalist for the past 10 years, I’ve worked for daily national newspapers and weekly, regional newspapers – covering a range of news, sport and general topics.

From straight-up news articles, sports news and reports, general lifestyle and entertainment stories, and interview and vox pops, I’ve covered a diverse range of topics.

I’ve worked on daily, weekly and monthly publications. I’ve also compiled and analysed reporting relating to different publications, as well as using KPIs to set targets, identify trends, and look at issues and opportunities to develop. Included is analysing web hits, open rates on various email publications, tracking click through rates, response rates and price per name indicators.

After a disappointing opening weekend defeat in the SSE Airtricity League First Division last Friday, Waterford FC look forward to home comforts this Friday evening with the visit of Cabinteely to the RSC.

An 88th minute Colm Coss goal downed the Blues on a night where the team had started the game well. Both sides created numerous chances throughout, but it was Coss who ensured the home side started with the three points.

It was a match that almost didn’t go ahead.

AN 88TH-MINUTE Colm Coss goal gave Athlone Town a 1-0 win against promotion favourites Waterford FC on the opening night of the SSE Airtricity League First Division.

The game was a tight affair, with both sides creating numerous chances, but it was Coss who fired the winner past Waterford keeper McLoughlin.
